Q Why should readers try this series?
A This bold new series starts out looking at the life of a regular(ish) teen girl who’s bullied at the hands of her mother, the paparazzi and her fellow students. But what happens over this nine book series is this unfortunate girl becomes the most badass girl in all of history. Most readers will appreciate this series because there is literally nothing like it out there right now, which makes the Swann series feel fresh and yes, highly addictive.
Q What kind of series is this?
A Swann and Monarch (books one and two) are both human stories steeped in high school angst, bullies, difficult parents and the twisted effects of human genetic modification. The third book, Clone, kicks this world wide open, unleashing a rapidly evolving world of urban fantasy. By the ninth and final book in this series, urban fantasy will have become dark fantasy, but by then you’ll be so hooked that nothing else will matter (the author says with a Cheshire cat-like grin).
Q What kind of readers will enjoy these books?
A I find fans of Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games and Divergent will appreciate the Swann series novels. Although this is not a rehashed version of any of the series listed above, Swann is for readers who love a strong, snarky heroine with real internal struggles who constantly wrestles with adversity while facing off with some of the most unusual villains in young adult fiction today.
Q Are there adult themes in this series?
A Yes. To stay authentic to the YA world, and to most of today’s teens, there is some strong language, violence and adult situations. I personally feel this series should be enjoyed by ages 15 and above.

Not Unlimited, freebie from somewhere, think the rest are ku. Maybe if I hadn't read in order, the prequel first, but overall it was just too much back and forth and not really about anything the blurb was talking about overall.

I have really enjoyed this series. Never in a million years would I have imagined the path this story has taken. It is very well written.
God created ONE earth, Mozart did ONE 9th symphony, and there is only one Mona-Lisa, once perfection is achieved, the summit is peaked, and the strive stopps. There is no beating perfection. Since the previous book without a doubt filled every criteria for perfection, I felt a slight fear that this book would be the one that broke the continuance of seemingly impossible magnitude, the amazing over triumphing of the previous book.
I was dead wrong, this book did not break the stride of reaching higher, its went above and beyond-beyond. Genuinly stellar, and has such perfection in storyline, character and setting, (as I have come to expect by this author), but in this one he has achieved a sense of immortality.
True immortality in the world we live in is when we are always remembered, and vivid in the mind,
Impossible to forget and often comes to mind. Few authors have managed that (in their books) over the centuries; Oliver Twist, Huckleberry Finn, Gone with the wind, Thornbirds, Lifters guide to the Galaxy, the Bible etc..those are books that still live and linger with love and fondness in peoples mind.. This is one of those epic, immortal, unforgettable books.
With a pinch of humor I might say If God were to create as Ryan schow writes we would have 7 planets with perfection in different ways just here close...(no offence meant to anyone) and we would have at least a record full of 9ths symphony alikes.
So lets just be grateful there is no other ones like this Creator, Author, a genuine master of epic dimensions when it comes to telling a tale.
To put it in modern terms that is easy to relate to "Luckily it doesnt contain calories, cause it would have been the death of me, it would at least have been a quadruple chocolate chip, hazel, merengue-cream filled giga huge plate of cookies" 😉
I‘m reading all of the author’s books in this series and it’s hard to stop and take a break. It’s extremely hard to find such an interesting and exciting author who not only writes intelligently but also provides top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories.
This series is an incredible undertaking. I don't know how he pulls it off but Ryan Schow is constantly reinventing what the series is while preserving what made it so good in the first place. In Abomination he did it yet again. It's hard to believe that this is YA fiction, though clearly it is. The same themes of the importance of friends and family, of actions, consequences, redemption and new beginnings, are still here. The same great storytelling and development of strong characters that readers love to watch grow. The same adventure and thrills. This book is another wild ride and more than worth the price of admission (with the only caveat being that, to get full enjoyment, you're best starting off with the first book, or even the series prequel).
Abomination is a wild ride! There are joyous highs and desperate lows. Raven is forced into self reflection and must make the most difficult choices yet in her young life, and she's not the only one faced with tough decisions. Plenty of grit and violence, sprinkled with a bit of romance. More is revealed about the tall Doctor from Dulce and the not so charming Dr. Holland.
This book is pretty deep and brought up important societal questions that can be endlessly debated without ever reaching a consensus Is any one person truly good, or truly evil? Can even the worst wrongdoer redeem him/her self from evil deeds through self betterment? Does one ever deserve forgiveness for even the worst transgressions? Who should be judge, jury, and executioner for those wrongdoers who are above the general law of the land based on status of wealth or power? Is vigilante justice ever appropriate?
The ending left me with no idea what happens going forward, but I can-t wait to find out!
Another great read in an excellent series! I seriously can't put these books down. Please keep them coming!!!
